I began reviewing books less than a year after my first article was accepted at a print magazine. It was practically an accident: a novel that I had been excited about for some time (Green, by Ted Dekker) had just appeared at the library near our apartment in New York City. After reading it while riding to and fro on the Subway, I knew that the book could be a valuable talking point with some of the teens I once taught and ministered to in Baltimore, MD. I wanted to share this information with fellow youth workers, and so, naturally, I sent a query to Youth Worker Journal.

The rest is history. Because I believe the opportunity to review books has been a gift of God, freely given to me, I am happy to offer advice to anyone else who desires to review books. Feel free to contact me.

Below is a fairly up-to-date list of the books I’ve reviewed. My goal in sharing them is that they will be useful in directing you to books that will be beneficial to you. You will notice that I tend to review Christian non-fiction, but that I also will occasionally review other genres (such as young adult fiction, owing to my work as a high school English teacher).
