About this Blog

(Who is “the other criminal”?)

I created this “blog” (technospeak for web log, or online journal) for the purpose of sharing my gifts and interests to benefit others. My aim with each post is to encourage people.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works… encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.  –Hebrews 10:24-25

Initially, I sought to post once per day for every day of the week. However, with time I found that I was spending more energetic thought on blog posts than I was on those whom I allegedly hold most dear (my Lord, my wife, and my family). I am a son of God first, a husband second, a father third, and a writer after all of those things.

You will find that my blog reflects my pursuit of these burning questions:

  • If it’s true that the Gospel–what God has done for us–changes everything about our lives, then how does it change everything about our work lives (for those of us who work secular jobs)?
  • Furthermore, for those of us who work in public schools, how does the Gospel change everything that we do? How do we obey the laws of the land while still having everything about our work as public school teachers changed?
  • What books are worth reading?
  • How do we manage the idolatrous tendencies of our hearts?

As I think of more questions that this blog addresses, I’ll post them.
